In an emergency message of solidarity with the Lebanese youth, Workers Party Youth has expressed its solidarity with the people of Lebanon following attacks by the Israeli state.

WPY are deeply concerned with regard to the escalation in tensions in the Middle East, further increasing the likelihood of a generalisation of the current conflict in the region.

The killing of civilians remains completely unacceptable, and we completely reject the characterisation of the Israeli press, that these strikes target combatants or members of Hezbollah. The targeting of civilians is a complete affront to our collective humanity, and the horrors visited upon children and youth in the region must end.

We note that the youth often experience the worst excesses of war, robbed of their opportunities, denied their futures, forced to fight in a war that is not theirs. We call on the youth to rise up against war, to fight for peace. Do not allow yourself to be deceived by the mainstream media, encouraging this slaughter. Our class stands to gain precisely nothing from the continuation, or worse, expansion, of this conflict. We remind the working youth of Israel that they too will gain nothing from the escalation of the conflict, just as the genocide in Gaza has brought no material gains for our class.

Youth of the working and popular strata of all nations must stand in solidarity for an end to the war.

The further expansion of this conflict would mean all out war, drawing in 'allies' of all sides, We reject the descension of our world and future into chaos.

WE SAY NO! NO! To the sacrifice of the youth for the imperialist's interests NO! To the capitalists placing their profits above human life NO! To any distractions from the struggle of the youth against the capitalist system The possibility of a war in the Middle East and further afield is becoming a more significant threat by the hour. We call on all peace loving peoples to join the struggle against war, the struggle for peace and socialism, to join the Workers Party.

SHOULDER TO SHOULDER, CLASS AGAINST CLASS.
