Workers Party attends meeeting of Communist and Workers' Parties from across the world in Havana

The 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP), which began on Friday in Havana, bringing together communist and workers’ parties from around the world at a particularly difficult moment for Cuba . The two-day forum brings together over 100 delegates from 48 organizations from various countries at the Convention Palace in the capital.
Hosted by the Communist Party of Cuba, the meeting was convened under the theme: “We defend and honour the legacy of the Cuban Revolution on the centenary of Fidel Castro; we deepen our solidarity with socialist Cuba; we strengthen our joint actions and unite our forces for peace and against imperialist aggression”.
Following the IMCWP, Havana will also host the 1st International Symposium “Fidel: Legacy and Future”, organised by the Communist Party of Cuba in connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro. The symposium will take place from 10 to 13 August and will focus on the political and revolutionary legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
The International Secretary of the Workers Party, Gerry Grainger is in attendance and has delivered a speech which will appear on this website soon.
The Havana meeting is not only an important forum for discussion and coordination among communist and workers’ parties, but also a strong internationalist expression of solidarity with socialist Cuba, at a time when the island is once again facing severe economic pressure and imperialist threats.
