On the hate-fest which took place in Northern Ireland last night

June 10th 2026

The stabbing of a man in north Belfast on Monday 9th June was horrific beyond words. The police have the perpetrator in custody, he is being charged, and the legal proceedings will continue. The hate fest that was encouraged last night by right wing players in Northern Ireland and others from further afield was despicable. Homes and businesses burnt out, cars and buses set on fire, and all within their own communities.

These racists say they’re protecting women and children from foreign nationals who, the racists claim, may rape, kill and abuse them, but that is a false narrative to excuse their hate crimes. Many of these heroes themselves have in fact been convicted of wife beating, rape, and sexual abuse of children, especially the wealthy sponsors who support, defend, and fund the far-right activists.

More than 30 women have died across Northern Ireland in the past six years, stabbed by white local males. Were there outrage and violence on the streets as a result of these murders? Did people blame all white males for the crimes of these men? Thankfully, no.

But this gives the lie to those who claim that “we must protect our culture and values” and the only way to do so is to get rid people from minority backgrounds who live here, especially if they have differently coloured skin or have a non-Christian faith background.

What took place last night was mob rule, like Nazi stormtrooper without the jackboots kicking in doors and burning homes and terrifying women and children. This hate fest will continue unless community leaders and politicians demonstrate real leadership and tell these criminals that they are not welcome in their communities.

They cannot and should not get away by claiming this was peaceful protest, and a few bad apples caused the riots. This was an organised and orchestrated show of violence and intimidation, and it has brought shame on our communities and our society.
