Workers Party Newry and Armagh rep Nicola Grant has created a petition to raise awareness of the disruption of facilities at Newry Leisure Centre. The petition follows discontent on social media about the lack of facilities at Newry Leisure Centre and a protest arranged regarding gym facilities not being repaired.

Speaking to Clanrye News and Sport Grant said:

“The closure of our local swimming pool has left a huge gap in services that many of us relied on. This pool wasn’t just a place for fitness; it was a hub for families, young people learning to swim, and a vital resource for mental and physical well-being.”

“As a community, we’ve already seen too many valued services disappear. It’s time to make our voices heard. Please take a moment to sign the petition to save our pool and fight for the services we deserve. Every signature counts – let’s show how much this matters to us all.”
